Family reunion in Suomussalmi 8.-9.7.2023
This summer we will celebrate the 50th anniversary of our family club in Kainuu – Suomussalmi on the weekend of July 8-9, 2023.
Event program:
Saturday 8.7.
The family celebration starts on Saturday morning, when there is a guided bus tour to the roots of our family. Destinations to explore are e.g. Suomussalmi-Ämmansaari, Peranka and Pisto. We also hear interesting stories about the phases of our family. Departure for the excursion is at 9:00 a.m. from the port of Ämmansaari, where there are parking spaces for cars. We offer picnic lunches. Return from the excursion to the harbor around 3-4 pm.
In the afternoon, we move to the atmospheric Old Kurimo – Kurimontie 39. The evening starts with presentations of the phases of our family in different forms – books, stories, pictures from around 5 pm. You can present your own works/photos/genealogies. In Kurimo there is also an opportunity for outdoor activities.
The celebratory dinner will be held at Vanhan Kurimo’s restaurant from around 6:30 p.m. and there will be a pleasant and musical evening as well as dinner from a standing table. Dinner is self-expensive, about 35-37.50 e/person. A-rights in the restaurant.
Sunday 9.7.
The service will be held at Ämmänsaari church at 10:00. After that, the family association offers a soup lunch in the parish hall in connection with the church. After lunch, there is the 50th anniversary meeting of the family club, after which the family club offers farewell coffees.
Participation fee: the membership fee for the family club for the year 2023 is 15 euros for adults and at the same time it is the participation fee for the meeting of the family club. You can register several participants and note that each person pays 15 euros for their participation. If you are a permanent member or otherwise participated with an additional payment to the family club, it will be taken into account as a participation fee.
